About Us
A partnership between 2 catering colleges- Hackney Community and Lewisham College - Greenwich Primary Care Trust, Sustain, EYS and HIT Catering. Our main customer targets are school catering companies and in-house school catering teams. GFT will also target the council contract catering managers. We will provide short, accredited and bespoke training courses tailored specifically to public sector needs, which will cover courses such as Level 2 NVQ in Professional Cookery to a short course in Basic Knife Skills. The development of our courses are on-going as we respond to organisations' needs and adapt our courses accordingly. We envisage a need to progress learners onto more advanced courses thus improving their chances of meaningful employment or promotion. We will have routes of progression which will include NVQ level 3s, the introduction of 'Train the Trainer' approaches to ensure our training is carried out and cascaded through the school and the development of a public sector-specific catering qualification.
