About Us
The Medway School FEAST Centre will provide a centrally located training centre made up of a training kitchen and teaching rooms, which will form part of a large secondary school kitchen in a Medway. There will be a wide range of courses on offer covering everything from cookery skills, nutrition and food hygiene to recognised qualifications at NVQ Level 2 or above. Courses will range from basic informal 2-hour sessions on healthy eating aimed at support staff in schools to learning seminars for senior management teams on issues relating to school food policy and the nutritional standards. More formally recognised NVQ qualifications will be aimed at school catering staff and young people in Medway wishing to pursue a career in catering and hospitality. The Medway School FEAST Centre will not only enhance the profile and value of our school meal workforce but will also ensure that school staff in Medway are provided with the necessary skills to promote healthy eating to the whole school community whilst meeting the new nutritional standards for food in schools.
